2026 Mid-Year K-Beauty Trend Report

Published: 2026.07.15

Which beauty trend actually deserves your inventory budget in H2 2026? Not the loudest one — the one buyers keep reordering. To answer that, we pulled six months of order activity from the SEOUL4PM platform (Jan–Jun 2026) and cross-checked every beauty trend candidate against three outside signals: US marketplace review growth, Korea's top-100 retail rankings, and K-beauty community activity worldwide.

Five patterns showed up in at least two channels each. Here they are — with the numbers and the products that prove them.

1. Why Is PDRN the "Clinic Care at Home" Signal?

Salmon DNA (PDRN) has finished its move from the clinic chair to the bathroom shelf. In Korea's monthly top-100 best-seller rankings, about 1 in 10 formulas now carries PDRN (Jun 2026). In global K-beauty communities, PDRN was the only ingredient whose mentions grew faster than the communities themselves — up 3x from January to June.

The ingredient started in professional skin-booster treatments, so it arrives with a "clinic-grade" story built in. In Korea, the format has already expanded from serums to ampoules to eye patches. Overseas, mainstream skincare communities are still early on PDRN — the crossover moment is ahead, not behind.

Products to watch

Anua PDRN Hyaluronic Capsule 100 Serum — #1 skincare product in Korea's retail ranking (Jun 2026). Encapsulated PDRN plus hyaluronic acid for a hydration-first take on regeneration care.

medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum — pairs PDRN with peptides for a firming, tone-care serum; a leading brightening ampoule in Korean rankings.

ABIB PDRN Retinal Eye Patch (Glow Jelly) — a new Q2 entry that took off immediately on SEOUL4PM; PDRN meets retinal in the eye-care format.

2. Is Higher Potency the Most Underserved Beauty Trend Right Now?

3. What Is Driving the Barrier Care Boom?

Strong actives and barrier repair grow together. Ceramide SKU orders on SEOUL4PM rose 26% in Q2 even as overall order volume cooled. In Korea's top-100 best-seller formulas, panthenol now appears in 40% and ceramide in 24% (Jun 2026) — barrier ingredients have become the default, not the differentiator. On Amazon, ceramide ranked among the top ingredient keywords by review growth (May–Jun 2026).

This is the other half of the potency story: as more consumers add retinoids and acids, more of them need a repair step next to it. Barrier creams are the quiet, high-repeat backbone of a K-beauty assortment — they don't spike, they compound.

Products to watch

AESTURA Atobarrier 365 Cream (2nd Gen) — the top single SKU by H1 order value on SEOUL4PM, with a loyal repurchase base.

ILLIYOON Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream — orders up 2.6x vs Q1; a family-friendly ceramide cream that global communities consistently recommend for dry, sensitive skin.

SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella line — the #1 K-beauty brand by Amazon review growth (May–Jun 2026). Centella remains the one K-beauty soothing ingredient that has fully crossed into Western mainstream routines.

4. Is Suncare Still Seasonal — or a Year-Round Beauty Trend?

The data says year-round. Suncare orders on SEOUL4PM grew 4.2x from January to June — and community buzz around SPF doubled over the same months, starting its climb in April, well before peak season. Sun products filled 85 of 900 monthly best-seller slots in Korea (Jun 2026), the largest share of any product type.

Korean sunscreens win on texture: serum-light, no white cast, comfortable enough to wear daily. That turns SPF from a summer purchase into a 365-day repurchase — and it explains why rice, the hero ingredient of this half's sun heroes, grew 59% in Q2 orders. Buyers who treat suncare as seasonal are leaving the off-season reorder cycle on the table.

Products to watch

Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun : Rice + Probiotics — one of the most recognized Korean sunscreens worldwide; H1's top suncare SKU on SEOUL4PM, with a low-MOQ option added by popular demand.

SKIN1004 Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum — a water-fit sun serum that pairs the brand's centella story with daily SPF; orders nearly doubled in Q2.

Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Sunscreen — a hydration-first daily sunscreen with steady reorder demand.

Beauty of Joseon Matte Sun Stick : Mugwort + Camelia — the on-the-go reapplication format, up 8x vs Q1.

5. Why Is ******* the Next Entry Point?

Bonus: The H2 Ingredient Watchlist

Ingredients rotate faster than categories. Two shifts worth tracking into H2:

Rising heritage: rice (+59% Q2 orders), mugwort (+112%), and propolis (up nearly 4x) — traditional Korean materials riding the suncare and glow-serum waves.

Passing the baton: first-generation soothing stars are cooling. Heartleaf and snail mucin orders both fell sharply in Q2, handing demand to PDRN and centella. Community data shows the same rotation in Western mainstream forums.

FAQ: 2026 K-Beauty Trend Questions, Answered

Q. What is the single biggest K-beauty trend of 2026 so far?

By order growth, year-round suncare: SEOUL4PM suncare orders grew 4.2x from January to June 2026, and sun products held 85 of 900 best-seller slots in Korea (Jun 2026).

Q. What is PDRN and why is it everywhere?

PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide, often from salmon DNA) is a regeneration ingredient that started in clinic skin-booster treatments. It now appears in about 1 in 10 of Korea's top-100 best-seller formulas (Jun 2026) and is expanding from serums into ampoules and eye patches.

Q. Which beauty trend is most underserved by current supply?

High-potency actives. Retinal orders grew 2.1x in Q2 2026, but only 2.5% of Korea's top-100 best-seller formulas contain retinol or retinal — a clear white space for buyers.

Q. Which ingredients are declining in 2026?

Heartleaf and snail mucin cooled sharply in Q2 order data, while rice, mugwort, and propolis rose. Centella remains stable as the most mainstream K-beauty soothing ingredient.

Q. How were these five signals selected? Each trend had to appear in at least two independent channels: SEOUL4PM B2B orders, US marketplace review growth, Korea's retail top-100 rankings, or global K-beauty community activity (Jan–Jun 2026).
